What is a Jagged Profile?

Too often we assess learners based on a statistical average. When we do this, we miss out on the potential and talent of those around us. The Jagged Profile, a concept developed by Todd Rose, helps unpack the power of individuality. It shows us the need to design environments that are flexible and can support all those who interact in it. When we design for learners in the margins, we can unleash the power and potential of all people.

How is it helpful?

Professional development consultants, teachers, students, and businesses have all used the Jagged Profile Tool to help their learners and employees better understand the jaggedness of their own variability. It helps learners appreciate their own individuality, but also helps designers better understand the need to design flexible learning environments.

How do I use it?

To Track your own Group Data you will need to create an account:

1. Create an account.
2. Use the default Item Set (based on the UDL Guidelines) or create your own.
3. Share your group with others using a special access link.
4. View the graphs to see how there is no average learner.
